Support Resources

  • Download Serum: Purchase and download Serum from Xfer Records’ website or your preferred vendor. You’ll typically get a ZIP file or an installer.
  • Run the Installer: If you have an installer, run it and follow the on-screen instructions. Make sure to note the installation path where Serum is installed.
    • For ZIP Files: Extract the ZIP file to a location on your computer. Inside, you’ll find the VST plugin files.
  • Open FL Studio: Launch FL Studio 20 on your computer.
  • Open the Plugin Manager:
    • Go to Options in the menu bar.
    • Select Manage plugins from the dropdown.
  • Add Serum’s Directory:
    • In the Plugin Manager window, click on the Add path button (usually a folder icon).
    • Navigate to the directory where Serum is installed (e.g., C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins or wherever the Serum DLL file is located).
    • Select the folder and click OK or Add.
  • Scan for Plugins:
    • After adding the path, click the Find Plugins button in the Plugin Manager. FL Studio will scan the specified directories for new plugins, including Serum.
  • Add Serum to Your Project:
    • Once the scan is complete, close the Plugin Manager.
    • Open the Channel Rack or Mixer in FL Studio.
    • Click the + button to add a new instrument.
    • In the list of plugins, find Serum (it should appear under the name you installed it with).
    • Click on Serum to add it to your project.
  • Open Serum: After adding it, click on Serum in the Channel Rack or Mixer to open its interface.
  • Setup Presets: You can start using presets or create your own sounds in Serum.
